No - Children & babies must only interact with our necklaces when they are worn by an adult due to the long cord and risk of strangulation. They are not toys and children must never be left unsupervised with the necklaces.
It is safe for baby to handle and chew on the beads while the adult wears the necklace. Babies are drawn to the shapes and textures and enjoy interacting with the necklace while sitting on your knee, being carried in a wrap or breastfeeding.
All of our necklaces have been independently tested at UKAS accredited labs within the UK to ensure compliance to the relevant parts of the EN71 standards.
The necklaces we sell are not toys and therefore fall under the general product safety specifications. Because we appreciate that they are interacted with by children and therefore deserve stricter standards, we have ensured that the silicone we use complies to the strict EN71 (Parts 1, 2 & 3) 'safety of toys' specification as well which mandates requirements for physical properties, flammability and toxicity. The silicone is food-grade which is the same as that used in bottles and teats. It is odourless, tasteless & will not support the growth of bacteria or mould. The silicone is non-toxic; free from BPA, PVC, phthalate, latex, cadmium, lead & heavy metals.
Our silicone necklaces feature a breakaway safety clasp, which is not designed to be chewed.
Any liability for damage, injury, fees or any other liability due to the improper use of our products, or failing to adequately supervise a baby or child are disclaimed as far as possible.
No. The custom orders are a pleasure! The price will be calculated based on the style that you choose.
Yes of course! Pop open the breakaway clasp, pull the thread through, reknot in the desired place, then cut off the excess. If you would like more guidance (photographic or video!), then please let me know. If you require your necklace to be lengthened, then it'll need to be returned to Pebbles & Lace HQ.
Wooden necklaces are made on a sliding knot, so are easily adjustable without any alterations.
